Science and Education:
Science and Education systems with interactive lecture
hall video conferencing integration:
Two Solutions for the educator, scientist and information researcher:
- An integrated automated solution for Online Video Courses for University
and College accreditation and private lecture environments.
- KS technologies for research of education and knowledge assets.
An integrated solution for Online Video Courses for
the demanding world of University and college accreditation and private lecture
environments
Reliability and Assurance (no dropped lectures or
records and archives)
- Online live video and audio lecture sessions
- Sessions are delivered to the internet via redundant audio and video feeds
- Student access is performed via web portals with redundant web site feed streaming.
- If one feed fails the student simply flips to another port for continued feeds
- Lecturer will never notice a failure as two systems are always recoding video and audio sessions
- Redundant lecture hall servers
- Redundant lecturer video and audio pickup devices for no-fail delivery
- Classroom panoramic video for onsite student visuals during question and answer
- High gain magnifying microphone for onsite student hands up questions
Simple to use automated lecture hall conferencing
and student online streaming
- Systems are always running when lecturer enters lecture hall or classroom
- KS online monitors supervise every classroom to make sure all feed systems are running
- Monitors also ensure that redundant web site portal feeds are operational
- Students simply sign into the lecturers web site portal and login as virtual attendees
- Lecturer and tutors receive daily attendance records for each session
- Students can search for lecture content and download video and audio feed that relates to their query (lectures are broken into 1 minute searchable snippets)
Video Conferencing: Lecture hall and Virtual Students
- Each lecture hall has two video cameras (or more) pointing at the lecturers space
- Each lecture hall has one panoramic auditorium video feed for student question pickup

Audio Conferencing: Lecture Hall and Virtual Students
- Each lecture hall has redundant audio devices using lecturer Bluetooth headsets
- Each lecture hall has one high gain magnifying audio
feed for student question pickup
Online access to course and lecture audio-videos
- All lectures are ported to the lecturers web site
for easy review and download by students
Audio and text converted transcripts
- All lectures are transcribed to English language
text for student retrieval and notes
Tutorial and small event lecture conferencing
- For small break out interactive sessions the tutor or lecturer enter a virtual interactive experience with as many as 20 students.
- Students and teacher interact through video and audio in a virtual shared environment.
- Teachers can zoom in to each or all students during the interactive session.
- Examinations are monitored via this interactive process where students and tutors are assured of privacy and compliance to exam protocols
Search solution for reviewing past lectures and content
- All lectures are transcribed using SpeakScape transcription technology
- All content of lectures are searchable and user can listen to the exact part of a lecture that interests them and not have to scan through entire transcripts. See SpeakScape snippets
- Precision Search is accomplishes in sub seconds using pattern-clustering search.
A ScapeShape portal for each Lecturer and Course
- A web site for all information related to the course including audio-video portal access
- Used for student uploads and downloads of assignments and exams
- Used for discussion groups and news feeds
- Searching lecture content and audio-video snippets
- Searching the web for related information
- Mapping lectures for pattern clustered knowledge (what was the lecturer really saying)
KnowledgeShape technologies used to support the
analytic needs of the educator and scientist
Scientists, Doctors and educators in general can benefit from KS products
for a variety of study and analytic purposes:
Example uses:
- Information analysis such as finacial, scientific and knowledge
- Engineering Metrics
- Information Forensics
- Geological analysis
- Micro biology
- Law and legislative
- Scientific intelligence and findings
- Intelligence and profiling co-existence
- Forensic psychology mapping and research
- Medical diagnosis and research
- Disease symtomatology and microbiology differentiation
- Human resource skills assessment
- Market analysis and forecasting
- Corporate oversight and enterprise intelligence
- Investment and open market profiling (public records and reports)
- International trend analysis
- Behavior profiling for security, law enforcement, risk, military movements
- Completive strategy analysis
- and general knowledge search and mapping: Chemistry, biology, physics, literature, history, faculty, etc
Pattern profiling and mapping
PatternScape (PS) uses a pattern profiling method to find results and
closely matching variants during search. For example, in experiments of
related kinds one would expect to find matching conditions with differences,
which PS presents in ClusterViews called variants. These features help
the educator and researcher search knowledge repositories for closely
matching conditions, ideas, theory, suppositions, findings and metrics.
The user can document map (DocMap) a report for example, and search the
knowledge index to identify closely matching and inter-related subject
matter. Likewise, one may use co-existence mapping to find the
co-existence of terms across an entire intelligence repository. Co-x
presents structured maps with vector distribution metrics and weighted
values of inter-relating terms. Measuring preponderance and distribution
of results are features of the PatternScape pattern profiling science.
Crawling, indexing, and transforming cross platform information into searchable assets
CrawlScape, a browser based gathering and indexing tool is an automated
crawl manager for the simplest to most complex network and intranet
topologies. If the physics department wants a search and mining tool for
its body of information while at the same time needing an experimental
knowledge repository, CS can be used to automate and manage the process
for the crawling and indexing the distributed information. Whether the
network contains http servers, ftp servers, shares, document variety or
Internet documents, CS provides automation for crawling and indexing the
needed targets.
An Intranet deployment utility and visualization portal
ScapeShape is an Intranet file sharing utility with a visualization framework
for deploying browser-based web and Intranet sites. It is a multi-zone
portal for:
- Searching documents and files within its network
- Communication discussion groups
- File sharing and control under the extensive Intranet
deployment utility
- Co-existence search pad for common terms
- RSS (news) feeds
- Public announcements and advertising
- Top activity zones
- Paperless office user interface
- Speak to text (voice notes) user interface
With these systems, it is possible to deploy unique Intranet Search
sites for every department or specialty in a firm. This is made possible
with the integration of an automated crawler; pattern profiling search,
and ScapeShape Intranet deployment utility.
Paper and voice conversion, and knowledge base inclusion
Conversion and collating features of SoftPaperScape and SpeakScape
transform physical assets (paper based reports, references, voice
recorded reports, recorded observations, discussions, and consultations)
into searchable documents. These resulting assets are useful for building
(or adding to) knowledge and information repositories. Both of these
conversion systems transform documents into searchable assets. Large
documents are broken into searchable segments while long recordings are
split into snippets for efficient review. All this is done automatically
by SPKS and SPS.
