Data Center and Crawl Options:

Co-location:
Co-location packages (table two) include IT managed services at the application level and not just simple real estate co-location, which can be bought from any number of ISP hosts. In contrast, managed services provide training, help desk, application assistance and guidance during normal-use and operations. Consequently these services are for clients who wish to host their KS servers in a professional class data center.

Step One: Co-location package prices are based on two important factors: managed services and the amount of cabinet real estate you need for hosting your KS servers. Only select these options if you intend on locating your systems at the data center (Co-Lo) and not when installing your servers at your own office. Bandwidth of 1Mbit/second/server is provided with each package (10Mbit/second burst and 500,000 docs/month/server). CO-LO-L2 or L3 refer to armed security and bunker grade locations only.

Step Two: The most important feature that defines a crawl package is the (total) quantity of documents to be crawled: CIP- 5M denotes 5,000,000. Servers and bandwidth needed for crawling and indexing are provided (3-40 server clusters dedicated per package).

Data center crawl packages:
Crawl options on the other hand are for those who wish to simply deploy indexes for search sites and don't have the resources or inclination to manage crawling and indexing processes. Our clients can turn to the KS data center to manage all crawl, indexing and server and bandwidth needs for their crawl projects. If you want to launch a search site (or many) simply contract the KS crawl services group to carry out the tasks of deployment.

All crawl packages use KS-owned server clusters. A crawl and index project can be applied to your internal network, web sites, file shares and folders, and URL servers. Select any option below for configuration and pricing. Importantly a crawl project can be made up of as many small crawling and indexing processes which combine to the totals shown in the table below. Therefore it is possible with the CIP-1M package to crawl ten 100,000 URL targets and create ten corresponding search indexes. Ten departments could have their own unique private search index, for instance with the CIP-1M package.

Step Three: Data center support packages are recommended for clients who need additional IT services.
